Detectives questioned ex-Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood under caution for a third time over alleged sex offences, it has emerged.
The Metropolitan Police revealed in a statement officers are investigating five non-recent claims allegedly committed in London between 1982 and 2016.
Westwood, 65, was interviewed under caution this year on March 15, April 4, and July 11.
Scotland Yard said there has been no arrest.
The star, who stepped down from his show on Capital Xtra in April last year, strongly denies the allegations.
A number of women accuse Westwood of predatory and unwanted sexual behaviour and abusing his position in the music industry.
Some of the women told BBC News they encountered Westwood when they were under 18. One said that she was only 14 when Mr Westwood, also formally of BBC Radio 1Xtra, first had sex with her.
An independent BBC inquiry, led by barrister Gemma White KC, is looking into what the corporation knew about Westwood’s conduct.
Ms White was appointed last August after an internal review found bosses should have further explored a string of sexual assault allegations against the hip hop DJ, nicknamed Big Dawg.
In May she said a dedicated phone line has produced “significant” new information.
The inquiry, which has already seen more than 50,000 BBC documents, is expected to publish its findings in the summer.
The Met said: “Police are investigating five reports relating to allegations of non-recent sexual offences allegedly committed by a man.
“The offences are alleged to have occurred in London between 1982 and 2016.
“A 65-year-old man was interviewed under caution on March 15, 2023, April 4, 2023 and July 11, 2023. There has been no arrest.”
A Westwood representative was approached for comment.
