Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi has been labelled as ‘worst signing this season’ just a few weeks into the Serie A campaign.
Origi left Anfield earlier in the summer as a free agent, calling time on his eight years contracted to the Reds. He scored 41 goals in 175 appearances, winning six major trophies along the way.
The 27-year-old subsequently signed for AC Milan on a free transfer, the club he scored against in the Champions League group stages last term. However, things apparently do not seem to be going well for Origi so far this season.

The Belgium international has made just four appearances and is yet to score his first goal. In all of those matches Origi was used as a second-half substitute, and is yet to be included in manager Stefano Pioli’s starting line-up.
A report in the Daily Mail by Italian journalist Alvise Cagnazzo has labelled Origi as the ‘worst signing of the season” in Serie A. Cagnazzo doesn’t hold back with his verdict on the former Liverpool striker.
“There is no doubt who the worst signing of the season has been in Serie A: Divock Origi," the report read. "The Belgian left Liverpool hoping to finally nail down a starting spot at a top club, but his time at AC Milan has so far been a disaster.
“Rather than catching the eye, the striker's first months in Italy have been plagued by bad luck and injuries, which limited his opportunities on Merseyside until his contract expired.
“At 27 years old, any player, especially a striker, should be at their peak. But Origi seems to already be on a downward curve in his career.
“In the Premier League, he contributed 22 goals and 10 assists in 107 games. In Italy, he risks those numbers being even worse and more similar to those of a midfielder rather than a centre forward.”

Cagnazzo added: “Milan may be beginning to think that they made a mistake signing Origi, who became one of the club's highest earners when he joined.
“There is a big risk that Origi could become a flop like Javi Moreno, Jose Mari, Patrick Kluivert and Fernando Torres.”
The report concluded by saying: “The feeling is that Origi, who is a doubt for Wednesday's Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb, has already lost opportunities to impress Pioli. The Milan boss is beginning to understand exactly why the striker was left free to leave Liverpool.”
