A 'divine' pub is set to reopen at the start of summer 2023 after suddenly closing last year. The Glasshouse Inn, in May Hill, Longhope, announced it was shutting on August 30 but will welcome its first customers back on June 1 this year.
The closure was explained in a Facebook post as being linked to an injury suffered by the landlady. It has since been announced that she is now "fully fit" and is looking to recruit staff to reopen the pub, which was once visited by famous pop star Noel Gallagher, reports Gloucestershire Live.
News of the Glasshouse's planned reopening has delighted locals, who have left messages of support and love on community Facebook groups. A typical message reads: "This is great news that you're better and great that you are opening up again."

It was all very different last August when a shock notice appeared on the pub's social media accounts. A post signed by Alison said: "Following my recent injury, I am unable to continue to work to the standards we have strived so hard to give.
"Once I have recovered fully from my accident, we hope to be able to recruit more staff and reopen. I am unsure, at present, how long this will take."
