And other stories from the stranger side of life

A Channel 4 satire last night pretended that human meat will be sold to address the cost of living crisis. A “scientist” told him that the meat had to be grown from slices of flesh that had been surgically harvested from humans. The Guardian asked whether the show was “the most disturbing TV satire ever”.

Applicants will need to have “a love of lager, passion for ale and a hop-timistic attitude” said the supermarket, as it encouraged “anyone who has a passion for beer” to apply.

Winnie the Pooh collector to carry on

A US woman has built a collection of more than 20,000 unique items of Winnie the Pooh memorabilia. She has vowed to keep collecting. “Boy, I just don't see an end in sight,” she told WTMJ-TV.
