A 40-year-old man was charged following a ‘disturbance’ in a town centre pub.
Police were called to The Tam O’Shanter Inn on Ayr’s High Street on Saturday evening shortly after 9pm.
‘Chaotic’ scenes were said to have unfolded as officers raced to the boozer.
The man, who was taken to hospital for assessment, was arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance.
One onlooker said: “The scene looked chaotic with a heavy police presence and several police vans. It looked pretty serious whatever had happened.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 9.10pm on Saturday, September 24, police were called to a premises on High Street, Ayr, following a report of a disturbance.
“A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital for assessment and arrested in connection with the incident.
“He was subsequently charged and issued with a recorded police warning.”
