Emmerdale fans were quickly distracted during the latest trip to the fictional village as newcomer Nicky arrived. Viewers of the ITV soap watched as Kim Tate, Dawn Taylor, Gabby Thomas, and Billy Fletcher held interviews for a new nanny.
With Dawn and Gabby going head-to-head to impress Kim and become her new second-in-command, the pair need some extra help looking after their kids so they can focus on work. After some interesting interviews, the group appeared to settle on Samantha, despite Nicky giving an impressive interview.
He quickly caught the eye of Gabby but it was decided that another candidate, named Samantha, was best suited to the role. However, when she turned down the job, Gabby was more than delighted to offer it to Nicky.
But Emmerdale fans were as suspicious as ever and aren't sure that Nicky will be all that he is cracked up to be and have predicted a sinister twist.

@pam_debeauvoir wrote: "Something sinister about Nicky already #Emmerdale." But @kfallon70 posted: "Well helloooooo Nicky #emmerdale." While @Mammy_white added: "I bet Nicky is in some way related to Kerry , just because he had the northeast twang ,she will come back from the ship in a few month and she will do the face when she sees him #Emmerdale."
But that wasn't the only reason viewers were distracted as @pam_debeauvoir tweeted "Nicky....looks like he's arrived at the wrong interview...it's a nanny at Home Farm...not an audition for the part of Danny Zuko in Grease #Emmerdale."
Newcomer Nicky is being played by Lewis Cope and speaking for the first time about his new role and the character, Lewis told the Manchester Evening News and other press: "Nicky's a great character. He's very relatable, likeable, and I'm just having fun with him."
When asked if Nicky had any dark secrets, the new soap star teased: "At the moment he's a lovely person, and there's nothing to say [otherwise].... he kind of fits the bill. He is almost too good to be true though, but we'll have to wait and see." And as for if he has links to anyone else in the village that may come out later down the line, Lewis replied: "Nothing has come through yet... but it's a soap."
