A 'distinctive' crazy golf course and bar has been planned for an old Nottingham industrial site. A set of industrial units once occupied by Almor Limited on Daleside Road, between Sneinton and Colwick, could be transformed into a indoor mini golf leisure facility with an accompanying bar and restaurant, if new plans are approved by Nottingham City Council.
The applicant, Golf Fang, already runs similar venues in Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield and Cardiff. The concept, according to the brand's website "combines crazy golf, theatre, cocktails and DJs in an art infused environment that showcases the very best of street art and their writers”.
The existing building is currently designated for industrial/storage and distribution use, with two warehouses planned to be used to form the initial 'Phase 1' venue. Planning documents explain the other two warehouses will remain unchanged, but could be subject to an additional planning application if further development of 'Phase 2' were to come forward in these units.

The ground floor would house part of the internal crazy golf venue as well as the bar/dining areas with kitchens, serveries, storage, and toilets. The proposals include a new mezzanine level which would provide extra space for the crazy golf course.
The prospective operator explained the layout has been designed to create a "distinct destination which makes the most of the existing building". The revamp would also include re-modelled entrances, themed golf areas with fire escapes, a service access and enclosed refuse area.
The scale of the proposed development remains unchanged and an office block on the site will be kept. Customer vehicle parking has been planned at the rear of the site, with a total of 19 spaces including one accessible space.
In a planning document, Lichfields on behalf of applicant Golf Fang Nottingham, said: "The proposed redevelopment would also result in a number of positive impacts to which significant weight should be afforded. In particular, the scheme would bring a vacant site back into sustainable use, generating employment opportunities during both the refurbishment and operational phases of development.
"In addition, the proposed development would further enhance the vibrancy and attractiveness of the growing business and leisure community of the Riverside Waterfront area, which has undergone significant regeneration and investment in recent years, adding to the leisure offer and supporting a greater mix of uses in predominantly industrial area." The application is pending consideration by Nottingham City Council.
