Three busy Cardiff city centre roads will be closed to make way for a large funeral procession on Thursday. Mill Lane, Canal Street, and Hayes Bridge Road will be shut between 11.30am and 1.15pm by officials from Cardiff Council and South Wales Police.
Entrance and exit routes from the John Lewis car park and Marriott Hotel may be affected for a short period of time and access will be managed by the council. All taxis, buses, and delivery vehicles will be required to vacate the area by 11.20am to make way for vehicles involved in the cortege.
Cardiff Bus has issued a statement in advance of the closure notifying customers that services 1, 2, 5, 7, 11, 28, 28A, and 28B will start and end from Wyndham Arcade (stop JE) instead of their usual city centre terminal points while Canal Street and Hayes Bridge Road are closed for the procession.
