AN NHS board is assessing the damage after a fire broke out at a hospital site in the Scottish Borders.
NHS Borders confirmed on social media that a fire occurred at the Knoll Hospital site in Duns on Wednesday.
The incident was attended by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and NHS Borders said there were no reported injuries.
The health board said a full assessment of the building and the damage will be carried out.
NHS Borders warned there will be disruption to clinic appointments based at the site during the assessment.
“Our teams are working to contact affected patients directly regarding their appointments, and we ask patients with clinic appointments not to attend the site unless they have been specifically advised to do so,” the board said.
“The safety of our patients and staff remains our highest priority.
“We appreciate the understanding and co-operation of our local community while we assess the situation and make arrangements to restore services as quickly as possible.”
GP appointments at Merse Medical Practice will operate as normal on Thursday.
NHS Borders said further updates will be provided on Thursday afternoon.
