Disneyland Brings Exciting New Menu to a Reopening Attraction

Since its closure in 2021, fans have been waiting for Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland (DIS) in Anaheim, Calif., to finish its complete makeover.

Then the wait got even longer, when Disney announced that, “Due to heavy winter storms that impacted our construction momentum, we are adjusting the reopening date of Mickey’s Toontown to Mar. 19,” according to a statement made by the park. The original reopening date was scheduled for March 8.

Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland, inspired by the hit movie, ”Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” has been a staple of the theme park since 1993.  Toontown features bright colorful buildings and classic cartoon characters. Walking into Mickey’s Toontown is like stepping right out of real life into a cartoon world.

As with many rides and attractions, it is time to move on from some things after a about three decades of the attraction. It is always time for something new and for a remodel after time, which is an ideology that came from Walt Disney himself.

Mickey's Toontown Treats Debut

Mickey's Toontown's re-opening might be delayed a few days because of bad weather, but the menu is all set for its grand reopening. There are two new stops for dining, Café Daisy and Good Boy! Grocers.

Café Daisy is an eatery with a chance to take a load off your feet and enjoy some new tasty treats. While Café Daisy is considered a fast casual dining experience that offers both lunch and dinner, it does feature Daisy’s Goody-Goody Donuts for $5.99, which could be a quick sweet breakfast treat. The donuts are house-made mini donuts covered in cinnamon and sugar.

The café has a toddler meal, mini mac and cheese for only $4.99 and kid's meals from $6.99-$7.99 for either pizza (cheese or pepperoni), mini corn dogs and mac and cheese. The kid's meals come with Mandarin oranges, applesauce and a choice of drink of water or milk.

Adults at Café Daisy can enjoy a variety of quick serve meals from $7.49 up to $14.49. The menu has pizza, the Daisy Dog, Daisy’s Dressed-Up Dog, Spring Garden Wrap, Toontown Tater Chips and a Cheesy Pizza Flop-Over. The flop pizza flop over is exactly what it sounds like, it's like a slice of pizza flopped over on top of itself. The Tater Chips can come with chili-cheese sauce and or ranch dip.

No meal is complete without some delicious drinks to wash it all down with. Along with the regular fountain drinks from Coca-Cola (KO), milk, apple juice, coffee, bottled water, hot cocoa, and cold brew, there is the Picnic Time Watermelon Lemonade, Granny Goof’s Garden Sweet Tea, and a Specialty Cold Brrr-ew. Drink prices range from $2.49 to $5.29.

Café Daisy is also serving up a menu with diet and allergy-friendly versions of its offerings. It features Sesame Allergy-Friendly, Soy Allergy-Friendly, Egg Allergy-Friendly, Fish/Shellfish Allergy-Friendly, Peanut/Tree Nut Allergy-Friendly versions of its menu as well as Gluten/Wheat Allergy Friendly.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway

Disneyland had its grand opening of Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway on Jan. 27. The Railway is in Mickey's Toontown and its opening went hand in hand with the kickoff the Disney 100th anniversary celebration.

The best way to take in the new Mickey's Toontown is taking a ride on the brand-new railway, after enjoying some fantastic snacks from Good Boy! Grocers on a picnic checking out all the updated cartoonistic scenery. Don't want a picnic? No problem. Enjoy a seat at Café Daisy and take in the same fantastic magical memories.
