Disney World has made a number of changes over the past few years, and few of them can be considered customer-friendly.
For example, the theme-park giant got rid of the free FastPass+ system and replaced it with the paid Genie+ and Lightning Lane systems. Making that change worse, the company uses dynamic pricing for both services, so on busy days you will pay more.

Walt Disney (DIS) -) also got rid of free Magic Bands for people staying at its on-site resorts and annual-pass holders. On select days the company has reduced admission prices to the lowest end of the pricing range it uses, but it's fair to say that most changes have involved higher, not lower, costs.
Now, however, the company has fixed a longstanding pain point for people visiting its theme parks. The move won't save people money, but many will welcome it nonetheless.
Disney Improves Its Restaurant-Reservation System
Planning Disney World trip involves coordinating many moving parts. You need travel arrangements, a hotel reservation and theme-park tickets and reservations. And if you plan to eat at sit-down restaurants, dining reservations are pretty much required.
That latter item was unnecessarily messy; it was hard to see all your choices in the company's app.
Both the My Disney Experience app (Disney World) and the Disneyland app will soon have major changes to the dining-reservation process.
"You will be able to see all available dining reservations for that day, allowing you to grab what you want without clicking on a million different times to see if anything is available in that window," WanderWisdom reported. "This is going to be a major time saver and make for a much less stressful reservation booking experience."
The changes should begin appearing in both Disney apps soon.

How Disney Theme-Park Dining Works
Disney manages reservations at both its theme parks and company-owned hotels through its apps.
Guests staying at a Disney World hotel with valid reservations get a slight advantage. They can make reservations for their entire stay up to 60 days before their trip.
"This can help you enjoy streamlined vacation planning, since you can make all your reservations on the same day -- rather than checking availability day after day," the company says on its website.
All other people can make reservations up to 60 days before their visit to Disney World. The company releases new reservations every day at approximately 6 a.m.
Disneyland allows visitors to make reservations only beginning 60 days before their visit. The California park does not offer the same "book your whole visit at once" convenience that Disney World does.
Many popular restaurants sell out quickly at both theme parks, so it's highly recommended to make reservations early.
Some Disney restaurants require a credit card to hold the reservation and a cancellation fee applies if you do not show or cancel by the required date.
