Disney fans will have a chance to see magical scenes of Encanto on ice for the first time in the UK when a new anniversary show whirls its way into the city.
Disney On Ice has announced it will be back at Utilita Arena in December with 100 Years of Wonder, celebrating its centenary, and pre-sale tickets are already on sale. And it says the popular Encanto will feature in the ice show for the first time in the UK, when Mickey Mouse is joined by his friends on a journey to discover his favourite memory of all time.
The show will run at the arena from December 6-10 and a saving of £3 per ticket is available for priority customers from this Friday, May 19 ahead of tickets going on general sale on May 26. Disney On Ice presents 100 Years of Wonder promises a festive season treat for families who will be part of the action and encouraged to help the gang venture through the Disney stories.

As the characters share memorable moments from favourite tales along the way, the charmed location of Encanto will feature as they travel to the mountains of Colombia to meet Mirabel and her family who live there. They also will sail away with Moana on the high seas on her brave bid to save her island and other skating adventures will feature the Frozen wintry world of Arendelle with royal sisters Anna and Elsa and the mystery and magic of Fantasia as a Sorcerer’s Apprentice makes brooms come to life.
The show invites audiences to 'Live Your Story' alongside the characters as they share their Disney memories, from Finding Dory to Toy Story. Steven Armstrong, regional vice-president of Feld Entertainment which produces Disney On Ice, said: “This year’s show is an extraordinary celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, where Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy invite guests to relive magical Disney stories with all of your favourite characters in a family experience featuring classic Disney songs, world-class skating and amazing stunts.
"Disney On Ice always receives a tremendous reception in Newcastle and we are looking forward to the big party in December." Caroline Ginnane, general manager of the Utilita Arena, said the ice spectaculars have become a pre-Christmas treat at the venue and called this year’s anniversary show "a particularly special celebration", adding: "Seeing Encanto for the first time on ice will be a real treat."
Priority customers have access now to pre-sale tickets, with pre-sale code D30FPC offering a £3 saving on each on Ticketmaster sales until May 26, and anyone wanting to join up for priority access can do so here. Alternately tickets will go on general sale on May 26 at the Disney website here and arena here.
