Disney is offering eligible executives a time-limited early-retirement package as the company moves to reduce costs and reshape its workforce. The Voluntary Early Retirement Offer, or VERO, was announced Monday, 24 August, in an internal memo from Sonia Coleman, Disney's senior executive vice president and chief people officer.
'We're focused on meaningfully reducing costs as part of our ongoing transformation, so we can continue to invest in the areas that will drive our future growth: content, technology, and experiences,' Coleman wrote. She described VERO as 'one of several actions' Disney is taking to reshape its organisation, alongside involuntary staff reductions that have already begun in some areas and are expected to continue into next year. The time-limited program is available to eligible US-based executives from the director through executive vice president levels.
