The few benefits offered by AI seem to be vastly outweighed by the negatives that it has brought into the world. This past week has seen perhaps one of the most sickening and depraved uses of the tool be discovered by horrified viewers online.
A channel on YouTube was recently discovered to have dozens of AI-generated videos created using Google’s Veo software. The channel, named Woman shot A.I., provided the exact kind of content you’d expect a channel with a name like the to provide. The disturbing videos were discovered by horrified viewers but despite the graphic and obviously deeply misogynistic nature of the footage it managed to slip through Google’s content filters.
