The festive season is well and truly upon us as tickets for Dublin Castle's annual Christmas market went on sale this morning.
Christmas at the Castle is set to take place from Friday, December 9 until December 21 at Dublin Castle in the city centre. However, several people were left disappointed as they struggled to buy the tickets.
Some of the slots were already sold out but others were marked as "unavailable" as people rushed to buy the tickets. Dublin Live reader Anna said: "I really wanted to go this year but I refreshed the website and all the tickets were gone in the blink of an eye." Another person said on Twitter: "Got my tickets this morning to The Christmas Markets in Dublin Castle swear I was going to a concert.

"9.05am and half the day was already sold out," said another person.
Thankfully, some more tickets were released for sale later in the morning. The event attracts thousands of people every year and tickets get sold out instantly due to popular demand.
This year's event will feature a boutique open-air Christmas Market again, with music from the Sea of Change Choir, Cantairí Oga Atha Cliath, Gloria Choir, Garda Ladies Choir, and others. Over 30 traditional stalls are set to taken over the castle courtyard featuring an array of decorative crafts and incredible gift ideas.
Guests will have the chance to enjoy food and Christmas drinks at the event.
