Hakim Ziyech was labelled 'disappointing' as the Chelsea attacker put in an 'out of sorts' performance in the Dinamo Zagreb Champions League loss as Todd Boehly pays for a costly £30million transfer mistake.
The 29-year-old made arguably one of the worst cameo appearances seen in a Blues jersey for a very long time. Not only did he have an on-field bust-up with star defender Reece James over a free-kick debacle, but he wasted the resulting two chances with weak efforts that were hit in the same place of the Dinamo wall.
His overall performance was summed up by damning statistics @MozoFootball posted in the aftermath. Their latest tweet read: 'Hakim Ziyech was 0% from his attempted take-ons (0/4), attempted crosses (0/9) and attempted total duels (0/5) in 45 minutes for Chelsea against Dinamo Zagreb.'

football.london's player rating of the man in question read: 'introduced at the interval to add a creative spark, Ziyech was poor with his crossing, wasteful with his shooting, and hit the wall with two promising free-kicks late on. 3' There were other culprits in the defeat, such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana, Mason Mount and more but judging by social media reaction, Chelsea's number 22 was the biggest problem when introduced at half-time.
Whether or not his outing and the backlash it received affects his chances for the Fulham game in the Premier League this weekend remains to be seen, but if it were up to Joe Cole or Martin Keown, Ziyech would not be getting much time at Craven Cottage in game week 7.
"Ziyech has a lot of talent, but it is just not clicking for him at Chelsea, so it's a disappointing night for the club, a shock result," Cole said on BT Sport 4's coverage in the aftermath.
Keown added via The Chelsea Chronicle: "Ziyech is just out of sorts. He knows that. We saw him play at Ajax, he was quite brilliant.
"He's a shadow of his former self tonight."
With these criticisms in mind, Boehly's demand of around £25-30m for Ziyech from his former club Ajax seems to have been a massive mistake as many reckon his conduct on the pitch demonstrates the fact that he doesn't want to be there anymore.
