A woman with disabilities slept in her wheelchair at night due to a lack of personal assistance hours, her heartbroken brother has said.

Elizabeth Canning was 59 years old when she died at home in Dublin last May, following a long series of illnesses.

The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) yesterday published new research to state that people like Elizabeth are confined to their homes because of a personal assistance shortage.
