Who’s eligible for the disability cost of living payment?

Only people in receipt of certain disability benefits will be entitled to the £150 payment. If you receive one of the following, you will be eligible:

  • Armed Forces Independence Payment
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance for adults
  • Disability Living Allowance for children
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • War Pension Mobility Supplement
  • Adult Disability Payment (in Scotland)
  • Child Disability Payment (in Scotland)

You must have been in receipt of one of these benefits by May 25, 2022. The £150 disability cost of living payment will not affect your existing benefits, nor will it count towards the benefit cap.

When will I get my disability cost of living payment?

Those entitled to the £150 disability cost of living payment will receive it from September, the Government has said. The money will be issued automatically and recipients will not need to apply for it.

People who qualify for the money via a Ministry of Defence benefit will get their money after those who qualify via a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefit. Many eligible for the £150 disability payment will also be entitled to the £650 cost of living payment.
