Two directors have taken an equity stake in Nottingham PR and marketing specialist Cartwright Communications.
Longstanding staff members Annie Brafield and Rose Hayes have been made shareholding directors, marking the next phase of the agency’s plans for growth following new service lines and new offices in Birmingham and London.
Cartwright Communications, which has a 30-strong team of PR, digital, social media, brand and marketing experts, works with clients such as Innes England, Nelsons, UHY Hacker Young and Willmott Dixon.
Managing director and founder Liz Cartwright said: “Since being made company directors in 2021, both Annie and Rose have played a crucial role in supporting me to drive business growth and shape our plans for the future and I am thrilled they have taken shares in the company.
“This is a hugely exciting time for Cartwright Communications as we lay out our plans to build on our successes and further develop the business.
“In the last year, we have established two new office locations and expanded our in-house digital team with ambitious plans to grow even more; both Rose and Annie are central to those plans.”
Annie, the agency’s longest standing team member, said: “Growing our own talent is vital to the success of the agency and is part of having a clear team culture. I am the perfect example of the opportunity for development that is open to all employees.
“I started here as an account manager and have risen through the business into an equity director position and couldn’t be more proud to say that. I am grateful to Liz for the opportunities she has given me during the last 10 years and support in taking on this new challenge alongside Rose.”
Rose, the former head of PR at the agency, said: “Both Annie and I are passionate about the business and recognise the significance of being granted shares in an agency that Liz has grown from a team of one to over 30 in three locations.
“Cartwright has a very distinct feel – whether you are working with us as a client or for us as a colleague. Our plans will look at how we can grow while always retaining the agency’s personality, as well as continuing to learn everything we can from Liz’s experience and expertise.”
The transaction was managed by Richard Stanley and James Simmonds at UHY Hacker Young and Duncan Taylor and team at Nelsons Solicitors.
