Fabrice Muamba has singled out Jack Harrison for special praise ahead of the clash against Manchester United. That news may come as a surprise to Leeds United fans as the 26-year-old has endured an indifferent 2022-23 campaign.
Harrison has bagged just one Premier League goal in 18 appearances, with competition for places stiff out wide. The emergence of Wilfried Gnonto has arguably been the Whites’ highlight of the season but Luis Sinisterra and Cysencio Summerville are also competing for a spot on the flank.
Not so long ago, it looked as though Harrison may be heading for the Elland Road exit. Leicester City were linked with a potential deadline-day move in January and Newcastle United had expressed interest last summer.

Reports since then have suggested he may be set to pen a long-term extension with the Whites. Less than 18 months on his contract has made Harrison’s future a hot topic at Elland Road in recent times.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, former Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers midfielder Muamba hailed the Leeds winger, suggesting he continues to get “better and better” in a United shirt. He said: “Then you have Jack Harrison. For me, since he joined Leeds United, he’s just gotten better and better and better. Jack is direct, Jack is exciting.
“If he’s playing on the right-hand side, you best believe he’ll be cutting in on his strongest foot and trying to whip the ball in or shoot. You have to be aware of this Leeds front three.”
