Dionne Warwick CANCELS concert due to 'medical incident' as fans send well wishes

Dionne Warwick has cancelled her upcoming concert after a medical incident, leaving fans gutted.

The American singer, 82, who is known for her hits like Heartbreaker, Walk On By and I Say A Little Prayer, was due to perform on June 24, but has had to cancel.

Fans of the iconic hitmaker were hoping to see her sing live at Rivers Casino Des Plaines outside Chicago next Saturday, but received an email this week cancelling the gig.

The email, which was sent to prospective concert-goers on Thursday, read: "We regret to inform you that the Dionne Warwick performance on June 24, 2023 at Rivers Casino Des Plaines has been cancelled due to a medical incident."

The email stated that all ticket holders would be receiving a refund on the tickets they purchased.

They stated: "All ticket purchases will receive a full refund directly issued by E-tix. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at another event in the future."

And now the second-most charted female vocalist during the rock era has opened up about her medical incident.

Dionne has told US outlet TMZ that she has been having issues with one of her legs, with the problem starting on Thursday and was bad enough for her to cancel her upcoming live gig.

But the outlet reports that there is "good news" with the New Jersey-born starlet telling them that she's "on the mend".

The report also states that the singing sensation "needed to take some time on her own to get back to 100%" with her remaining "hopeful".

Dionne also revealed that the gig will be rescheduled for the future.

Although fans were gutted to hear that the live performance was cancelled, many fans flocked to Twitter to send well wishes to the star.

"Wishing queen Dionne Warwick a speedy recovery," penned one fan.

While another added: "Sending love and healing vibes to Dionne Warwick."

The hitmaker isn't often ill, with her last reported medical incident happening in 2015.

In January 2015, Dionne was hospitalised after a fall in the shower at her home.

After the fall, she needed to undergo ankle surgery but was then discharged from the hospital.
