Diogo Jota reveals what he was told about Luis Diaz transfer to Liverpool

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has been briefed on how having Luis Diaz alongside him can only further his improve his goal scoring exploits.

Diaz joined the Reds from FC Porto just last month and made an instant impact in the side's most recent 3-1 win, assisting Takumi Minamino for the second goal.

Jurgen Klopp's men easily dispatched of Championship side Cardiff City at Anfield and will face Premier League strugglers Norwich City in the next round of the FA Cup.

With Jota enjoying a particularly fruitful season in front of goal thus far, the Portugal forward has received some words of wisdom from former team mate Sergio Oliveira on the Reds newest January recruit.

"I used to watch Porto a lot, I played there as well, so I know, for me, he was the best player in the Portuguese league,'' Jota recently told Premier League Productions.

"So I know his abilities and, for example, I had a chat with Sergio Oliveira, who is now in Rome, and he's saying, 'Now you're going to score even more goals because Luis is an outstanding dribbler and he will get you those chances.

"He's a great player and I think he will be good in the Premier League and good for us obviously."

With Liverpool already safely through to this season's Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium, Klopp's side may potentially see other cup competitions as their best chances of silverware this season also.

Despite being nine points behind league leaders Manchester City at present, the Reds do still have a game in hand of Pep Guardiola's side, as well as a crucial six pointer to come on April 9.
