Liverpool are facing an anxious wait to discover if Diogo Jota will be fit for next weekend’s Carabao Cup final.
Jota was forced off at half-time of Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League round of 16 first leg win at Inter Milan having damaged ankle ligaments.
The Portugal international was wearing a protective boot as Liverpool returned from Italy on Thursday afternoon.

Jota underwent initial scans in Milan and is expected to now have further tests to ascertain the extent of the damage.
The forward, who has netted 17 times this season, is a major doubt for Saturday’s Premier League visit of Norwich City and the home clash with Leeds United next Wednesday.
Liverpool, though, are keeping their fingers crossed Jota will be available for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday week.
Last month, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was in a protective boot having hurt his ankle ligaments when scoring against Brentford but was available to play the following weekend at Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have moved to allay fears Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered an injury during the warm-down session on the San Siro pitch after the game on Wednesday.
The midfielder is expected to be challenging for a start against Norwich at the weekend.
