Diogo Dalot Emerges As Manchester United's Most Improved Player

Manchester United's 23/24 campaign has seen Diogo Dalot quietly establish himself as the club's most improved and important player. Signed in 2018 under José Mourinho, Dalot's journey to secure the right back spot has been a winding one, including a successful loan spell at AC Milan.

At the beginning of the season, Dalot's role within the squad was uncertain due to Aaron Wan-Bissaka's resurgence. However, Dalot has shown significant improvement in his defensive capabilities, displaying more confidence in duels and spatial awareness.

Known for his attacking prowess, Dalot's ability to deliver precise crosses and incisive passes has been crucial in breaking down opposition defenses. While his goal and assist tally may need improvement, his overall output has been promising.

Looking ahead, Manchester United faces a decision at right back with Wan-Bissaka's contract expiring. Dalot, who signed a long-term contract last summer, has proven his worth and is likely to command a higher price tag than Wan-Bissaka.

Although Wan-Bissaka has faced injury setbacks this season, his defensive skills remain top-notch. However, criticisms persist regarding his lack of contribution in the final third. With Dalot's continuous growth and potential, United may consider adding another right back for healthy competition.

At just 24 years old, Dalot is still evolving as a player and seems to be cementing his position as the first-choice right back for Manchester United.
