'DinoBlade' Best Early Stat Build, Efficient SP Farming to Get You Started

"DinoBlade" puts players in control of a young Spinosaurus wielding a massive greatsword in its mouth, blending Souls-like combat with anime-style abilities and prehistoric enemies.

Created by Jean Nguyen, a former Senior Animator at Sucker Punch Productions known for "Ghost of Tsushima" and "Ghost of Yōtei," the game rewards patience and timing over button mashing.

Here's how to get started building your stats and farming efficiently.

'DinoBlade' Guide: Best Early Stat Build

Every level up in "DinoBlade" grants SP that can be spent on four attributes: Health, Strength, Stamina, or Resonance. While all four matter eventually, survival should take priority early on rather than rushing toward higher damage output.

  • Health should be an early priority, since more HP gives players room to make mistakes while still learning enemy attack patterns without relying too heavily on healing items, which remain a limited resource throughout the game.
  • Stamina powers nearly everything in combat, including attacking, blocking, dodging, and sprinting, so running out leaves players completely exposed.
  • Strength helps cut down fight duration and clear regular enemies faster and is the ideal stat to focus on upgrading after Health and Stamina.
  • Resonance, meanwhile, fuels active skills and transformation abilities, becoming especially valuable once players grow more comfortable with the game's core combat rhythm.

Managing stamina carefully is just as important as stat allocation. Since attacking, dodging, blocking, and sprinting all draw from the same pool, players should avoid emptying it during combos, instead fighting in short bursts followed by brief pauses to let stamina regenerate before engaging again.

Efficient SP Farming on 'DinoBlade'

Once additional zones open up, Save Stones become a reliable way to farm SP efficiently. Resting at a checkpoint respawns nearby enemies, fully restores health and Resonance, and refreshes any SP pickups in the area, making repeated farming runs straightforward once fast travel between checkpoints unlocks.

The most effective farming method involves locating a checkpoint near several enemies, clearing them out, collecting the SP they drop, resting at the checkpoint to reset everything, and repeating the cycle.

Some players pair this with transformation abilities, activating a transformation to quickly clear a group of enemies before resting to restore Resonance and starting the loop again. Players struggling against a difficult boss shouldn't hesitate to farm SP this way before attempting another attempt.

How to Get Boss SP, Abilities to Upgrade

Defeating bosses grants Boss SP, which unlocks and upgrades abilities from the Souls Art tree, including damage boosts, parry window expansion, transform skills, and extended ability duration.

Roar stands out as one of the best early skills available, functioning as a crowd control tool that briefly stuns nearby enemies rather than dealing direct damage, giving players room to retreat, heal, or land a counterattack.

Roar proves especially useful against defensive herbivore-type enemies that tend to block or parry incoming attacks, since it disrupts their rhythm and opens them up for a free hit. It also helps when surrounded by multiple enemies, creating breathing room between attacks.

Since Roar draws from the Resonance meter, it's best used strategically rather than constantly, saved for moments like escaping a group, breaking a defensive enemy's guard, or punishing a boss right after it finishes an attack combo.
