Dimzordimma: Drill rapper, 18, stabbed to death in Enfield days after first gig

Tributes have been paid to a “well mannered and respectful” rapper who was stabbed to death in a tower block just days after his first-ever show.

Donovan, 18, known as Dimzordimma, was “chilling with friends” when he suffered fatal wounds on the seventh floor of the building in Enfield at 6.10pm on Monday.

Neighbours reported the teenager being chased by an attacker with a machete through the communal area of the block. Despite the efforts of police and paramedics, he died at the scene at Bonnington House in Ayley Croft.

A 14-year-old boy arrested in connection with the attack has been bailed, police said on Wednesday.

The tragic teen’s tracks One Man Army and Hype have attracted more than 100,000 views on YouTube with friends saying he was destined to be a star of the Drill scene.

On one of his videos, Donovan is seen embracing former Radio One DJ Tim Westwood.

Days before his death, Donovan wrote about his first show at Boxpark Croydon where he received “bare wheel-ups” - where the DJ stops the track to rewind when they are impressed with the flow.

He wrote: “Wow man my first show 🤩 thanks to everyone who came to support really appreciate it still feels unreal.”

DJ Bobbi London paid tribute to the teen on Instagram. He would mix songs for Donovan and give him advice on his burgeoning rap career.

In an emotional tribute, he wrote: “You was bright, like a sponge, you just wanted to learn and you were hungry and passionate.

“You were polite, well mannered and had respect. I could tell your family raised you well.

“And lastly you were so gifted, I always got gassed mixing your tracks and listening to your bars and how you would put words together.

“I felt sick when I heard the news last night that this had been done to you, you have been running on my mind all day man.

“I’ve been playing back voice notes from you about us planning things musically for you and what you wanted to do in the future, I’m so sorry it had to be you.“You are loved always and will never be forgotten my little bro.

“I’m broken right now.”

A family member Mos High paid a short tribute to Donovan on a YouTube video announcing his death.

He commented: “Rest in Peace my first nephew...Gone but not forgotten...You will be truly missed.

“You were well-loved by everyone in the family.”

Donavan is believed to be from the Hemel Hempstead area and was visiting friends when attacked.

Another said: “He was always happy, sweet, energetic and smiling, saying hello to everyone.

“He loved his music and his family. He told us all too stay out is trouble. He was not in a gang or anything like that. He was an innocent victim.”

Scotland Yard said the victim’s family have been notified and are being supported.
