MMA fighter Dillon Danis has promised to pay every fan who liked one of him tweets $1,000 if he is unable to beat Paddy Pimblett within two minutes of a UFC fight.
Danis, who is signed to Bellator and currently in training for his boxing debut against YouTube star KSI, is known for promising extravagant giveaways on Twitter, and later deleting the posts. But his latest one, if he were to fight Pimblett and even win later than he claims, could cost him an obscene amount of money.
The jiu-jitsu black belt is infamous for his declarations that he would beat a number of top fighters around the world, and is one of the most notorious trolls in the MMA world. He was, at one point, a renowned BJJ competitor, but rose to prominence as a training partner of Conor McGregor's in 2016.
And in an ill-advised tweet, which he later shared to Instagram, Danis wrote: "If I don’t finish Paddy Pimblett in under 2 mins I’ll retire and delete all social media forever plus give everyone who likes this 1k each." The tweet has been liked over 65,000 times while the Instagram post was liked over 134,000 times, meaning if he were to lose he would owe fans more than $199million, around £165m.
Luckily for Danis, it appears that such a match-up is highly unlikely given their signing with different organisations, not to mention a massive disparity in weight. The Brit is a lightweight, tipping the scales around 156lb, while Danis has never come in lower than a catchweight of 175lb in his MMA career.

Danis is also signed to Bellator, who are allowing him to take a one-fight engagement with KSI in the boxing ring next month, while Pimblett is exclusive with the UFC. One would need to leave their current contract to go to the other's promotion, neither of which seems likely at this time.
Either way, it seems that the British fighter Danis should be focused on at the moment is KSI. The YouTuber has yet to lose in the boxing ring, defeating fellow influencers Joe Weller, Logan Paul and Swarmz, as well as journeyman boxer Luis Pineda since making his debut at the start of 2018.
Danis is actually something of an underdog against KSI given his lack of boxing experience, and hasn't helped his case with a series of outlandish training videos that show him hitting pads in unimpressive fashion. However, he insists that he will handily win, setting up a return to MMA and further big money boxing bouts.
