While the Grizzlies were eliminated by the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs, swingman Dillon Brooks has remained in the headlines in the ensuing days.
Shams Charania reported this week that Brooks would not be back with the Grizzlies in 2023-24 “under any circumstances.”
On Wednesday, Brooks’s agent, Mike George, called out Charania for his report about the Grizzlies’ controversial forward.
George is the founder of OneLegacy Sports Management, the agency which represents Brooks, as well as other NBA players including Jamal Murray, Oshae Brissett, Kenneth Lofton Jr. and others.
George ripped into Charania, blasting the NBA insider for “spreading false news” and even “attacking players.
“Shams Charania, the leader of spreading false news and attacking players. Why any player in the league talks to this guy blows my mind,” wrote George on Wednesday night.

Brooks is set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason.Brooks had come under fire during the series (and previously this season) regarding comments he made about LeBron James.
Clearly, Charania’s reporting hasn’t sat well with George, who expressed as much during his outburst on Wednesday.
Brooks has spent six seasons in Memphis, making him the longest-tenured player on the Grizzlies, though if Charania is indeed to be believed, his time with the organization may be running out.
