A notorious murderer and rapist's refusal to receive medical treatment to keep him alive caused a dilemma for prison and hospital staff, a coroner has found.

Martin Leach died aged 65 at Royal Darwin Hospital on August 3, 2024, of congestive heart failure after being behind bars for 41 years, serving a life sentence with no chance of parole.
