Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher says there is no guarantee the Reds will be better following this summer's transfer business.
Jurgen Klopp has splashed the cash this window with the additions of Fabio Carvalho, Calvin Ramsay and a potential club record-breaking move for striker Darwin Nunez. However, there has also been some high profile departures with Sadio Mane joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Mane has been a key figure for Klopp's side over the last few seasons and, while Carragher is excited to see how the side evolves next season, he conceded it's difficult to say they look 'stronger' heading into the new campaign.

He said on talkSPORT: "I think that remains to be seen. When you lose someone like Mane, who has been so pivotal for four or five years, and you're bringing in a sort of unknown quantity in Nunez.
"He looks a top player and has great pedigree — and Liverpool did need to bring the average age of that front-three down. It's difficult to say they look stronger right now, considering how good Mane was, certainly in the second half of last season.
"But also I'm really excited to see how they evolve with Nunez. It's interesting to see the change of the dynamics of the team and, if it makes Liverpool better, then who knows?"
Liverpool continue their pre-season schedule with a friendly against RB Salzburg in Austria on Wednesday night, before they take on Manchester City in the FA Community Shield on Saturday. The Premier League season gets underway a week later and the Reds face an away trip to Fulham.
