Ex-Bolton Wanderers forward Nathan Delfouneso admits it has been a 'difficult' past 18 months for him but is now raring to go after joining Accrington Stanley on a short-term contract.
The 31-year-old departed Wanderers earlier this summer after his contract expired. He signed a two-year deal with the club in the summer of 2020 and is now a free agent.
Over his two years at the club, Aston Villa youth team product and former Blackpool attacker Delfouneso turned out 67 times for the Whites. In that time, he found the back of the net 10 times.

Delfouneso spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Bradford City. He made half a dozen appearances at Valley Parade in that time and was released by Wanderers over the summer.
The bulk of his appearances at Wanderers came during the 2020/21 season when the Whites were ultimately promoted out of League Two at its conclusion. He started just seven games for the Whites last campaign.
Having joined fellow League One side Stanley on a short-term deal, Delfouneso admits it has been a difficult past 18 months or so for him at Wanderers and the Bantams, during which his game time was limited. But he is now looking forward to the future and helping the Wham Stadium outfit.
He said: "I've been in the game a long time but I've still got a lot to go and do. Hopefully I can pass on my experience with the younger players and the rest of my team-mates but also looking to go and gain more experience and learn more because I still feel I've got a lot left in me, especially after a difficult past 18 months or so which I've had.
"I'm eager, I'm motivated and just itching to get going and reproduce what I know I can produce. I'm good, I'm happy, I'm excited and hopefully I can show that to my team-mates and the fans. I'm here to go and help the team and hopefully push the team up the league.
"Being a free agent, I've been doing a lot of work myself but it gets to the point where you need to try and get into a club so luckily enough I knew one of the players here. He asked a question and I was able to come in and train and here we are.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to come in and train, but even more grateful for the opportunity to come and play for the club."
Stanley boss John Coleman said: "With the injury crisis we have, we had the opportunity to make a short-term addition. He has plenty of experience and hopefully he will give the lads a lift in the attacking department.
"It gives Nathan an opportunity, he lives locally and it ticks boxes for both parties and hopefully he can hit the ground running."
