One Direction fans fight over wax leftovers as Madame Tussauds takes band off show

One Direction fans will be sad to hear the band, who split for good in 2015, will be having their wax figures removed from Madame Tussauds in London.

The museum has already had requests for the boys' body parts from die-hard fans, after it was announced the band will be taken off show.

Fans are scrambling to take parts home, with some even wanting to hand over their cash to buy all five figures.

One person even offered to fly the figures by private jet to Australia.

Tim Waters, of Madame Tussauds London, said: "The time has come to bid them a fond farewell.

"The number of requests we’ve received offering to take ownership of all, or part of, our One Direction figures shows the impact they’ve made on their fans."

The five boys are still popular despite splitting seven years ago.

Harry Styles has arguably had the most success as his solo career shot off and he is also set to appear in Hollywood film Don't Worry Darling later this year.

After quitting the boyband, Harry turned to Mick Fleetwood for advice.

In recent days, Mick - the face of Harry's new make-up line, Pleasing - told Vogue they had a deep and meaningful chat about One Direction and his musical future, back in the day.

He said: "One of the earliest conversations Harry and I had, and one that continues today, is he looks at a band, entity, or a person, and thinks, ‘What allowed that to keep going? What allowed it not to lose the plot?’ That, as you know, is Fleetwood Mac’s story.

"He identified with that and thought, 'If that’s possible, then I can hold on to what I feel is true and what my next step will be, not only as a musician, but very, very much as a person'."

One Direction's split came in 2015 followed a falling out between the lads, leading Zayn Malik to quit.

Mick's wise words clearly helped lead Harry's solo career, as he is without doubt the most successful solo artist from the band.

They have all gone on to do different things, with Liam Payne and Zayn becoming dads, and keeping out of the spotlight.

Meanwhile, Harry is making moves and headlines frequently.
