NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Tuesday rejected former Mumbai police chief Sanjay Pandey's bail plea in a money laundering case arising from payments for alleged illegal phone tapping of National Stock Exchange employees. Special judge Sunena Sharma sent Pandey back to Tihar jail till August 16 after he was produced on the expiry of his current Enforcement Directorate custody.
Pandey, arrested by the ED soon after he retired last month, told the Delhi court that the agency was trying to frame him and iterated that he had not tapped phones for a private security firm that he and his family had "incorporated".
