Did Jurgen Klopp make sarcastic reaction to Liverpool blunder? Fans have their say after Alisson's Real Madrid howler

Liverpool fans have been left confused as to why Jurgen Klopp was spotted clapping on the touchline after Alisson's howler against Real Madrid.

The Anfield side raced into a 2-0 lead after Darwin Nunez's opener before a clanger from Thibaut Courtois allowed the Reds to make it two. But after Vinicius pulled one back, it was Liverpool keeper Alisson's turn to make a mess of things as he cleared the ball off his Brazil teammate only to watch the ball loop over his head and in for the equaliser.

Klopp is well-known for his touchline antics and he was seen with a disbelieving grin on his face while cameras caught him applauding. And while that may have been to encourage his stars to get back into the game, some fans were left wondering whether he was sarcastically applauding his keeper for letting the Real back into the Champions League tie.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Was Klopp sarcastically clapping Alisson?" and another added "Klopp’s sarcastic claps always kill me."

Alisson was getting it in the neck as one fan wrote: "LMAOO Klopp clapping for that goal.. I wouldn’t go back to the changing room if I were Becker."

One fan wasn't having it regardless of his intentions as they added: "I don't understand Klopp. Your players mess up and you stand behind the line clapping for them? Geez!!!" while another said: "Liverpool are a joke! What the hell is Klopp clapping at?!"
