The Boston Celtics delivered a blowout victory against the San Antonio Spurs on the road on New Year’s Eve, winning by 33 points. The team’s overall efficiency from key players, including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White was matched by solid performances from the bench.
The Celtics’ victory was not a product of individual brilliance, but a collective effort by the entire team as Boston went up big early and never relinquished their lead, a pleasant change from close wins in recent games. Even star big man Kristaps Porzingis, who struggled offensively early, found ways to contribute to the win. The Celtics had balanced scoring, with six players in double figures.
Defensively, the Celtics locked down the Spurs after allowing some easy buckets in the second quarter.
