On Wednesday, Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll became the first rookie in American League and National League history to record 25 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season.
Carroll unloaded a solo shot in the seventh inning on Wednesday against the Giants for his 25th home run of the year. He stole his 49th base of the season in the first inning of the same game, and his 50th steal came during the third inning. The rookie collected four hits during Wednesday’s 7–1 win over San Francisco en route to achieving the impressive accomplishment.
Carroll’s is just the 13th individual season in MLB history in which a player hit 25+ home runs and recorded 50+ steals. He’s the second to do so this season, joining Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr., who has 39 home runs and 67 stolen bases.

The 23-year-old recorded the uncommon milestone during his 147th game of the 2023 season, and just the 179th game of his MLB career.
Carroll is the first player aged 23 or younger to record a 25/50 season since Hanley Ramírez did so for the Marlins back in 2007, according to Sarah Langs.
