The family of a 38-year-old man found dead in the street with a "hazardous substance" on his body have paid tribute to him.
Police were called to Kilburn Drive, at around 7pm on Thursday, November 24, to reports a body had been found. Emergency services attended and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Today Greater Manchester Police named the person as Liam Smith, 38, of Kilburn Drive, Shevington, Wigan.

Paying tribute to him, Liam’s family said in a brief statement: “Liam was kind-hearted, funny, the life and soul of the party. He was the most devoted dad, much loved son, brother, grandson and uncle. He will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him.”
Yesterday GMP said that 'potentially hazardous substances' were found on Mr Smith's body.
A statement posted on the GMP Wigan page on Friday, before Mr Smith had been identified, said: "At around 7pm yesterday evening officers were called to reports of a deceased body on Kilburn Drive, Shevington in Wigan.
"Emergency services attended and sadly confirmed these reports. A scene is currently in place at the location and contained on Kilburn Drive with no disruption to the wider area.
"Police believe there are potentially hazardous substances on the body and anyone who has had direct contact with the body should speak to officers or seek medical advice immediately.
"Officers are out speaking to residents and are highly visible in the area. The scene is contained, and it is believed there is no wider risk to the surrounding area.
