Two accountancy firms in Devon have announced a merger in a bid to form a "more powerful" practice.
Marsland Nash Associates and Chillcotts said the agreement would mean the business could offer more services.
The new practice will operated under the Marsland Nash Associates banner and will be based at the offices of Marsland Nash Associates in Paignton.
Steve Marsland, who is one of the principals at Marsland Nash Associates, said: “This is great news for our business community because this merger means we can offer more services - helping hundreds of local clients be more successful.
"Tax is always changing and becoming much more complex. So it’s now even more important that businesses and individuals pay the right amount of tax."
Mr Marsland founded his accountancy practice in April 2003 and initially traded as Marsland Associates. A former colleague, Zohan Nash, joined the business in December that year and Marsland Nash Associates was established in a back room of Mr Marsland's home.
By February 2004, having outgrown the home office, the pair opened a small office in Torbay. In 2008, the practice moved to larger offices in Brunel Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot, and by 2014 had taken over Torbay Accountancy and Bookkeeping Services (TABS) in Paignton. In April 2017, Nathan Murphy become an equal equity director alongside the founders.
Nick Chillcott, boss of Chillcotts, added: “The bringing together of our two specialist practices means clients and the wider business community will benefit from a wealth of knowledge and experience ."
