A 'manipulative and devious' mum conned her best friend out of more than £100,000 after telling her the money was for a friend with cancer.
Anna Bonner would request large amounts of cash from Susan Hughes for the man's cancer treatment - when really it was being used to fund her own lavish lifestyle, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The 40-year-old even took advantage of a crush Ms Hughes had on the supposedly ill acquaintance, encouraging her to write letters to him and send gifts that she would then keep for herself.
