In response to promoter Eddie Hearn’s apparent support of superstar Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs), Haney has been reposting constantly on X, claiming that Ryan rigorously used the prohibited steroid ostarine to help him lose weight for the bout. Hearn believes that Haney’s defeat by Ryan Garcia has left him “psychologically” and “emotionally” scarred. Haney is a former two-division world champion. Put differently, it’s possible that Haney’s loss to Ryan destroyed him forever, leaving him a damaged shell that babbles on while he tries to make sense of what happened to him. Hearn believes Ryan, 26, was attempting to make weight at the last minute because he weighed 3.2 pounds more than he should have for the fight at 143.2 pounds.
