Developer hoping to build 107 homes after land deal

A property developer hopes to build 107 homes after buying 11 acres of land in Nottinghamshire.

Avant Homes Central said that subject to planning the site, off Lynncroft in the town of Eastwood, could have a gross value of £27 million.

The developer said it wants to build a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, in a combination of 14 Avant Homes’ house types.

It said that of the 107 homes proposed on the Lawrence Point development, 10 per cent would be designated as affordable housing.

Should it get planning it said it would be obliged to contribute around £680,000 towards local education, healthcare, improvements of bus stops and library facilities, a travel plan and public open space.

Avant Homes Central managing director Chris Coley said: “We’re consistently searching for development opportunities across the region.

“Following great success with our developments in Wollaton, Mansfield and Ruddington, Lawrence Point is a fantastic opportunity to further expand our presence in Nottinghamshire.

“We now await the planning decision from Broxtowe Borough Council, and, subject to approval, we look forward to commencing initial groundworks in due course.”

Avant Homes Central currently has 11 developments across the region, with others due to start.

The Chesterfield-based business is part of the Avant Homes Group, and has six other regional businesses operating within Scotland, north east England, Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, East Midlands and West Midlands.
