An Ayrshire boxing club is counting the cost after an accidental blaze destroyed thousands of pounds worth of equipment.
Irvine Elite BC's gym went up in flames on Sunday evening after a faulty heater is understood to have caught fire and set a weight bench alight.
No-one was in the building but damaged equipment including new gloves, headguards and mats will cost £2,000 to replace.
Joe Affleck, who runs the club in South Newmoor industrial estate, said the gym could be closed for up to a month as a result of the blaze which broke out shortly after 4pm.
He said: "The smoke damage is really bad, all my white walls and equipment are black. It could be three to four weeks before we are able to re-open.
"Thankfully no-one was in the gym at the time. I'd left a couple of hours before.
"It was a faulty heater that is supposed to turn itself off when it overheats. It caught fire and fell off the wall onto a weight bench and set that alight too."
A crowdfunding page set up to help replace the damage equipment has already raised £750 of the £2k target.
A spokesperson for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said: "“We were alerted at 4.08pm on Sunday, January 15 to reports of a fire within a building on South Newmoor Industrial Estate, Irvine.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a small fire within a commercial property.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe."
