'Devastated' mum sends message to Ann Summers after vibrator of 14 years breaks

A mum was so 'devastated' when her faithful vibrator of 14 years broke that she wrote to Ann Summers to thank them that the £50 sex toy was 'better than any bloke'.

Amy Pritchard hosted an Ann Summers party more than a decade ago where she purchased a top-of-the-range pink vibrator that proved itself to be 'fantastic' value for money.

The 35-year-old claims that her 'old faithful companion' has seen her through 'thick and thin and times of need' - including a failed marriage, four house moves and bringing up three children.

So when her 'bestie' eventually broke, the personal assistant messaged Ann Summers on social media to share her appreciation for her beloved toy after having a giggle with some girlfriends in the pub.

She praised the sex toy for often being better than men as it 'doesn't chat back and sometimes does a better job.'

An Ann Summers rep responded to Amy by pointing her in the direction of their updated Rampant Rabbit range - but she's yet to invest in a new toy.

Amy, from Littleborough, Greater Manchester, said: "It's seen me through some important milestones - a failed marriage, four house moves and three kids.

"It's been there for me when I've needed it.

"The vibration part of it had broken quite a bit before but the top part of it completely fell off. I got it out of my drawer and was just like 'oh my God'. I was devastated.

"We were having a laugh in the pub and I was like 'you know what it's better than the money I've spent on any fella', that was the humour behind it.

"It cost me about £50 and when I worked it out it was about £3.60 a month or something like that, better than any man.

"At least they don't give you any chat back and they do the same job as a man.

"We were laughing about it and we said that sometimes a vibrator does a better job than a man."

Amy's message read: "Well, what can I say...

The sex toy has been with Amy for a long time (Kennedy News / Amy Pritchard / Facebook)

"Approximately 14 years ago I bought what was then a top of the range 'pink rabbit' I was only 20ish earning very little and the price of this rabbit was sickening, but the lady that was our host was so convincing (the vodka jellies helped) and I purchased it against my better judgement!

"Let me tell you right now...

"Through thick and thin and times of need, three children four house moves and a failed marriage included my old faithful companion has decided to part ways with me today.

"My bestie completely detached from his throne and will carry in [sic] my journey with me no more!

"What a bloody fantastic value for money. I think it was around £50 so when I work that out that's £3.36 per month! Better than any bloke!

A rep for the retailer even replied (Kennedy News / Amy Pritchard / Facebook)

"Please advise me of a similar product, and after 14 years I can only hope in excitement of the technology advances!"

The mum-of-three said she snapped up the sex toy during an Ann Summers' party and got plenty of use out of it but has sadly binned it after it fell apart - and is now on the hunt for a replacement.

Amy said: "I'd just bought my first house and we had a girls' night with an Ann Summers party.

"It was 50 odd pounds, which was expensive really. It was just a fun night and that's when I bought it.

"Even though it was expensive, it was worth it.

"It's gone in the bin. I did keep it for a bit as I thought it was funny but I moved house and I just thought that there was no point taking it with me, it's totally gone."

Ann Summers has been contacted for comment.
