100 Thieves have announced the signing of legendary Danish AWPer Nikolai “dev1ce” Reedtz as the final piece of its new roster.
The 30-year-old will partner up with Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander once again, with the former IGL now taking up the coaching role in the roster. The move marks dev1ce’s first foray outside Denmark since the ill-fated Ninjas in Pyjamas move that shocked the world in 2021.
A necessary change for both dev1ce and Astralis?
As the flagbearers of Denmark in esports, Astralis would never have willingly parted ways with dev1ce. After all, the sniper is synonymous with Astralis itself, and is one of the most experienced players still competing in Counter-Strike 2 alongside the likes of karrigan and apEX. But to say his performances have merited that spot on the roster would be a stretch too far.

After the brilliant return to form that was 2023, dev1ce has slowly slid down the ratings charts going from an incredible 1.22 rating in that year, down to a mere 1.07 in 2025. If you apply a shorter three-month filter, that number drops down to 0.98, an appalling stat for any AWPer. And that dip in form has gone hand in hand with medical issues resurfacing, preventing him from participating in a few key events (such as the Shanghai Major RMR).

Despite their legendary partnership, it was clear that a change was needed from both sides, and dev1ce will hope that a new roster can reignite that spark to bring him back to the top of his game. With title sponsor Roobet—a major player in esports betting—providing financial support for this project, 100 Thieves have put together a solid cast of supportive elements around Dev1ce.
The rifle trio—sirah, poiii, and ag1L join 100 Thieves
Joining dev1ce on the roster will be the young rifling trio of sirah, poiii, and ag1L. All three have been highly touted as prospects in the tier two scene, with poiii being particularly outstanding in his EYEBALLERS stint.
Ag1L will play a particularly important role in 100 Thieves’ CT sides as the big site Anchor on most maps. His utility damage and flash assists are also impressive, pointing to a solid role player who can support his stars well.

The sirah-poiii duo, who have both averaged a 1.20 rating in recent months, will be the big firepower engines for this roster. Between the two, poiii is often the more aggressive player, whereas sirah takes a more pack role in his gameplay. Statistically, the trio is a solid pickup, representing some of the most promising up and comers.

Six gambles for 100T, how many will pay off?
Comparing these signings, including dev1ce, against the organization’s prestige and CS history, it looks like 100 Thieves have gone for six gambles. What remains to be seen is how many of these will actually pay off, and which players will quickly make way for others once the team reaches the fall season.
First up is the leadership duo of gla1ve and rain. Easily the biggest question marks on the roster, both players are making big role changes late into their careers. rain’s story seems a lot like Twistzz’s Liquid gamble, where the star took over IGL duties after playing alongside karrigan, and quickly jumped back across the Atlantic to rejoin FaZe. Will rain fare the same? Or will gla1ve’s experience as an IGL translate well to the coaching role and help the Norwegian out?

And what will they make of dev1ce? If the AWPer can find his peak again, he’ll easily be one of the best AWPers in tier two, at a time where most teams are struggling to find success with that role. But if he flops like he has done at Astralis, then he’d be nothing more than a $5,000 decoy.
Surprisingly, the young riflers are the squad’s best chance for gambles paying off, as all three currently play at a similar level to where 100 Thieves will start off its journey, Open Qualifiers and CCT-tier leagues. Can they keep the ship afloat long enough to let the veterans come up to speed? Or will the weight of the names serve as an anchor, dragging them down with the legends of the past. Either way, 100 Thieves’ journey will be thrilling to watch for every CS fan.
