Destinee Lashaee dead: My 600lb Life's first transgender star 'takes own life' aged 30

My 600lb Life star Destinee Lashaee has tragically died at the age of 30.

The TLC reality show's first transgender star appeared on the show in 2019 to open up about her struggle with weight and her battle with depression.

Destinee is believed to have taken her own life, with her heartbroken family confirming her death on social media.

Her brother Wayne wrote alongside a picture of them together: "I accept you for who you are, I accept every flaw that come with you, I’m sorry you felt alone, I’m sorry you felt you had nobody else to turn to."

He added: "I’m sorry you felt you had no other option Destiny wouldn’t of wanted this, lord why keep taking my siblings away, how much can I take."

Destinee's devastated friends left tributes underneath Wayne's heartbreaking announcement.

The family has suffered much heartache over the years, tragically losing Destinee's brother Anthony and younger sister Destiny.

Destinee had been opening up a lot about her mental health struggles recently through her sister's page.

MailOnline reports she wrote in a recent post: "To everyone who genuinely love and support me, I love you and I’m grateful to have touched millions of lives and hearts around the world.

"Living my life with so much pain for so long I’ve come to realize that God makes no mistakes.

"I’m grateful for my journey and all I’ve been through. I don’t regret a single moment. Love you all."

Destinee was well known as one of the stars of TLC reality show My 600lb Life.

She appeared on the seventh series when she was 27, opening up about how she used food to "dull the pain" of her mental health struggles and difficult childhood.

She reached out for help from the show's Dr Younan Nowzardan after a suicide attempt saw her mental health decline further.

She said at the time she was eating to "escape" her depression but feared that her weight - 686lbs at the time - would eventually kill her.
