Desperate search for missing Scots girl, 14, last seen wearing school uniform

A frantic search operation has been launched to trace a missing schoolgirl.

The last sighting of Katie Keddie, 14, was at 9.40am today at Gateside Avenue in Greenock.

Police say they are "extremely concerned" for the teen as a search goes underway.

Officers have urged anybody who may have information of her whereabouts to come forward.

Police Sergeant Jason Logsdon of Inverclyde Police Station said: “We are extremely concerned for Katie and would ask that anyone who knows where she is to get in touch with Police Scotland."

The teenager is described as being 5ft 5in and with long brown hair.

When last seen she was wearing black glasses, black Adidas leggings with a white logo on calf, black and white Converse trainers, a school uniform shirt and tie, black quilted jacket and carrying a school bag.

Police can be reached on 101, quoting incident number 0913.
