A desperate mum is demanding action against a callous conman who wrecked her family’s Christmas. Mum-of-three Catherine McGill filmed the silver-tongued crook, who charged her £750 for a fake Samsung S22 Ultra phone for son Patrick, 16.
The cash was everything Catherine – who gets by on benefits – has saved over the past year. She thought she was buying a phone that sells for £1149 in John Lewis, saving a few hundred quid.
The Daily Record has spoken to an expert who slammed the phone as “one of the worst” fakes he’d seen and who confirmed that thousands of similar high-value devices are in circulation in Scotland.
