Design proposals for the new £34 million Dumfries High School went on display this week.
Members of the public were invited to view them at a drop-in session on Wednesday.
The consultation event gave people the chance to give feedback on the proposals before a formal planning application is made.
Representatives of the design consultants, Ryder Architecture, were on hand to answer questions.
The new school will be built on the existing site and it is scheduled to open by 2025.
Head teacher Phil Cubbon said: “This is a very exciting time for the Dumfries High School community.
“Work is due to start in early 2023 and the new Dumfries High School will open in 2025.”
Funding for the project will come from council capital investment and the Scottish Government’s Learning Estates Investment Programme.
