Designer JJ Valaya has joined hands with a leading carpet brand to launch their new collection titled Kapurthala. From Kashmir to Marseilles, the collection comprises of 14 unique designs of luxury silk carpets conceptualised by JJ Valaya and created by Obeetee. The design philosophy traces the journey of the Jamawar or paisley from its origin in Kashmir to its European avatar in Marseilles, France. We spoke to the designer and asked him on what intrigued him to get into designing carpets.
How did the idea of entering a home space arise?
