The Cleveland Browns took all the guesswork away from their quarterback situation for Week 9. Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Friday that Deshaun Watson would return to the lineup and start against the Arizona Cardinals.
He did not receive a game designation on the team’s final injury report after being a full participant in practice on Friday. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday with the shoulder injury that caused him to miss Week 8.
Watson has played in only four games this season. He suffered a shoulder injury that caused him to miss two games. He came back in Week 7 but reaggravated it causing him to miss a third game last week.
He returns to face the Cardinals.
Watson has completed 61.7% of his passes this season for 683 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.
The Browns are 3-1 in Watson’s starts and face the 1-7 Cardinals who have lost five games in a row. The Cardinals have not announced who will start on Sunday. It will either be rookie Clayton Tune or Kyler Murray will be activated from PUP to make his 2023 debut.
